DESCRIPTION:As a member of Congregations for the Homeless\, which strives to mitigate the pain of homelessness by providing meals and basic needs\, HNT aspires to provide at least two monthly meals for 80 men. \nHow you can help: \n\nHelp prepare one or more dishes for the meal on December 11\, captained by Cheri Levy & Sharon Sandler\nThis is a great activity for families\, friends\, your book group\, or chavurah\, and HNT will provide organizational support. It’s all done potluck-style with food you can buy or make at home. You can drop off your food or stay to help serve and talk with the residents. You choose the date that works for your group. Please email ShelterMeals@h-nt.org to volunteer to organize a group of friends to take a meal.

The story of the Exodus of the Children of Israel from Egypt has inspired our communities through the centuries to pursue our own paths to liberation. That path is ongoing. \nThe journey to the Promised Land has at times taken us in different directions\, unique to our experiences. Yet the African American and Jewish communities share a deep common bond. In the face of rising racism and antisemitism in America and in the world\, we look to old friends for nourishment and support.
