DESCRIPTION:The Poetry of Uri Tzvi Greenberg Featuring Musical Guest Gilad Efrat \nJoin Rabbi Herber and renown Israeli educator\, Dr. Rachel Korazim\, for an engaging and provocative virtual Scholar-in-Residence session on the great Hebrew and Yiddish poet Uri Tzvi Greenberg. His poetry is unique and not easily accessible\, yet extremely important. Greenberg is the voice of prophetic visions and lamentations of the destruction of European Jewry and its revival in the Land of Israel. Our session will include an exploration of the times and days of our poet. Of all the poets of the modern State of Israel\, Uri Tzvi Greenberg is the most complex and challenging one. In order to make the most of Dr. Korazim’s presentation please be sure to review these materials before the session. Following Dr. Korazim’s presentation you’ll be treated to a concert performed by musical guest\, Gilad Efrat. \nTo learn more about Dr. Rachel Korazim\, click here. \nAbout Gilad Efrat: Gilad combines different genres of music; Classical\, Jazz\, World and Israeli music. DESCRIPTION:Co-led by Rabbi Samuel Klein and Rabbi Jay Rosenbaum \nMonthly Sunday mornings ● 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Zoom\nCost: $75 per person \nChevraya 2: Learning Together\nMitzrayim and Meitzarim: Inner and Outer Transformation in the Book of Exodus \nIn the Jewish Tradition\, there is an intimate connection between overcoming external oppression (exodus from Egypt/Mitzrayim) and overcoming internal obstacles (Meitzarim/anything which constrains us emotionally\, intellectually\, or spiritually). Covid-19 has imposed on us both external restrictions and an inner feeling of being confined by outer realities. And to achieve a society of racial equity we need both a change of behavior and a transformation of attitudes. \nIn our study of Exodus\, we are going to explore the relationship between tikkun olam/changing the world and tikkun atzmi/changing ourselves.
