Jacob is the co-founder and CEO of Vinsent\, a new venture formed to positively disrupt the global wine industry.  In 2015 Jacob served as a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Company\, helping to build a new service line focused on early stage companies. Jacob is the Chairman of the award winning Jezreel Valley Winery\, which he co-founded in 2011. Jacob has served as an advisor to Harmony Labs\, a NY based incubator focused on big data and media influence. For the past 20 years Jacob has focused on the early stage tech sector as a serial entrepreneur\, serving as CEO in many cases\, including Ambient (NASDAQ IPO)\, Delta Three (NASDAQ IPO)\, NomadIQ (Acquired by NASDAQ listed company)\, 2bAnwhere\, DoubleFusion\, and most recently Zula\, Inc — along the way creating over $1 Billion in shareholder value.  Jacob is active as an angel investor\, advisor and board member to many companies and has served as an advisor to VC funds. As the Spokesperson\, he serves as a resource for editors\, journalists and broadcasters to receive information and official statements on issues relating to Israel. Elad joined Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in February 2010. Upon completing his diplomatic training\, he assumed his first post as the Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of Israel in Luanda\, Angola in November 2010. In August 2012\, he became the Deputy Consul General at Israel’s Consulate General in Philadelphia. In September 2015\, he returned to Israel and served as a Desk Officer in the North America Division of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs\, focusing on Canada\, U.S.-Israel Relations and special projects in North America. He served in this capacity until his departure to Washington in July 2018. Before joining the Israeli Foreign Service\, he worked for the Jewish Agency in Israel and in the United States for 8 years. Elad holds a BA degree in Political Science and International Relations and an MA degree in International Relations – Diplomacy and Security Studies\, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Elad Strohmayer is married to Oren Ben-Yosef and is a native of Bat-Yam\, Israel\, a suburb of Tel Aviv. He is fluent in Hebrew and English\, with a working knowledge of Portuguese and French. DESCRIPTION:Co-led by Rabbi Samuel Klein and Rabbi Jay Rosenbaum \nMonthly Sunday mornings ● 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Zoom\nCost: $75 per person \nChevraya 2: Learning Together\nMitzrayim and Meitzarim: Inner and Outer Transformation in the Book of Exodus \nIn the Jewish Tradition\, there is an intimate connection between overcoming external oppression (exodus from Egypt/Mitzrayim) and overcoming internal obstacles (Meitzarim/anything which constrains us emotionally\, intellectually\, or spiritually). Covid-19 has imposed on us both external restrictions and an inner feeling of being confined by outer realities. And to achieve a society of racial equity we need both a change of behavior and a transformation of attitudes. \nIn our study of Exodus\, we are going to explore the relationship between tikkun olam/changing the world and tikkun atzmi/changing ourselves.
