ROOTS (Rising Out Of The Shadows) is a shelter for young adults\, many of whom have aged out of the foster system. Help us give these kids and young adults clothing to keep them warm this winter: \n\nGreatest need: kids-sized (2T and larger) new winter coats and adult-sized new or very gently used winter coats\nAlso appreciated: kids-sized new or gently used rain jackets\, new sweatpants with elastic waistbands\, socks and underwear; adult-sized new socks\, gloves\, and scarves\n\nPlease bring donations in your trunk on December 3rd or 5th and we will unload for you\, or drop off by the 5th in the red bins outside the upper foyer. Thank you for pre-bagging donations by child vs. adult sizes. \nNo time to shop? Email Rebecca@h-nt.org to make a donation by November 18 and volunteers will purchase coats on your behalf.

We provide a hot lunch for 25-30 which can be dropped off Friday afternoon or Sunday morning by 10:30 AM at the day center in the U District\, or arrange an earlier drop off with Joanne. \nClick here to participate by bringing a dish.
