DESCRIPTION:Co-led by Rabbi Samuel Klein and Rabbi Jay Rosenbaum \nMonthly Sunday mornings ● 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Zoom\nCost: $75 per person \nChevraya 2: Learning Together\nMitzrayim and Meitzarim: Inner and Outer Transformation in the Book of Exodus \nIn the Jewish Tradition\, there is an intimate connection between overcoming external oppression (exodus from Egypt/Mitzrayim) and overcoming internal obstacles (Meitzarim/anything which constrains us emotionally\, intellectually\, or spiritually). Covid-19 has imposed on us both external restrictions and an inner feeling of being confined by outer realities. And to achieve a society of racial equity we need both a change of behavior and a transformation of attitudes. \nIn our study of Exodus\, we are going to explore the relationship between tikkun olam/changing the world and tikkun atzmi/changing ourselves. ROOTS (Rising Out Of The Shadows) is a shelter for young adults\, many of whom have aged out of the foster system. Help us give these kids and young adults clothing to keep them warm this winter: \n\nNew socks\nNew gloves\nNew scarves\nNew or nearly new winter coats\n\nPlease bring donations in your trunk on December 11 or 13 and volunteers will unload and leave a Chanukah treat in your trunk\, or drop off earlier that week in the red bins outside the foyer. Thank you for pre-bagging donations by child vs. adult sizes. \nIf you’d like to make a monetary donation\, please do so by December 1 – designating Social Action Coat Drive – and Janet Gray will shop for you!
