SUMMARY:Endless Opportunities: Writing Our Roots: A Mystery Writer Invites us to Share Some of Our Stories
DESCRIPTION:For generations “transplants” from the East Coast have been coming West to farm\, dig for gold\, start a business\, or star in movies. Many of us are a new kind of transplant\, uprooted from our homes\, families\, friends\, synagogues\, routines and familiar surroundings in our “golden” years to follow our kids and grandkids. Share your own relocation story and hear how award-winning author and New Jersey native Jane Isenberg finally put down new roots here in the Pacific Northwest while researching and writing two mysteries featuring Jewish transplants and set in Washington. The Bones and the Book is set in Seattle’s tiny Jewish community during the Gold Rush and in 1965 and Murder in the Melting Pot is a contemporary mystery set in the Yakima Valley. \nEndless Opportunities is a community-wide program of educational\, social\, recreational and volunteer activities. \nPlease RSVP to Rabbi Kate Speizer\, rsvpEO@tdhs-nw.org or (206) 693-3046.
