DESCRIPTION:Better Together: A New Virtual Program for Teens and Elders! \n9/26\, 10/31\, 11/21\, 12/12\, 1/30\, 2/13\, 3/27\, 4/24\, 5/15 ● 11:00am – 12:15pm on Zoom \nWe are excited to announce HNT has received a grant to bring the Better Together program to our community. Better Together is a grant program with an all-inclusive curricular guide to enable teens to run safe virtual programs between tweens/teens and the elderly. Calling all students in ages 12-18 to participate as well as interested elders in our community. This program will connect teens and elders in a meaningful way in order to benefit and support both age groups. Better Together is new program we are starting at HNT in order to empower teens to reach out to the elderly\, befriend them\, and make their day a little brighter which in turn\, brightens the teens’ lives immeasurably. Better Together is a program developed and operated by a well-respected national foundation. Teens and elders meet together on Zoom from 11:00-11:45 and then teens meet from 11:45-12:15 on Zoom to process and continue the learning. Click to register for the Better Together program.

DESCRIPTION:As a member of Congregations for the Homeless\, which strives to mitigate the pain of homelessness by providing meals and basic needs\, HNT aspires to provide at least two monthly meals for 100 men. \nHow you can help: \n\nHelp prepare one or more dishes for the meal on January 30\, captained by Nathalie Bentov\nThis is a great activity for families\, friends\, your book group\, or chavurah\, and HNT will provide organizational support. It’s all done potluck-style with food you can buy or make at home. Due to COVID-19 meals are currently contactless drop-off only. You choose the date that works for your group. Ellen succumbed to leukemia at age 16 and it was her final request to have an annual blood drive to help others in need of transfusions.   \nShe understood how her very life depended on donors and wished that gift to be carried forward in her name. We are partnering with SJCC and The First Night Project\, in honor of Ellen Yusim z”l\, Harry McGovern\, and others who have lost their lives or are still battling childhood cancer.  \nDonating blood is an essential and encouraged activity critical to sustaining community healthcare by providing a stable blood supply to patients at area hospitals. It’s all done potluck-style with food you can buy or make at home. Due to COVID-19 meals are currently contactless drop-off only. You choose the date that works for your group. DESCRIPTION:Take-Out Meze Boxes by On Safari Foods\nMeze boxes will be available for contactless pick-up on:\nThursday\, February 10 • 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM &\nFriday\, February 11 • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Herzl-Ner Tamid.\nDonors giving at the Supporting Level ($1\,800) and above include delivery upon request. \nThose registered for the 2022 Legacy Fundraiser have the opportunity to receive a Mediterranean Meze Box. Please register at h-nt.org/legacy to order. \nMediterranean Meze Boxes (made in the HNT kitchen):\n• Miniature cod cake with romesco aioli\n• Yaprakes- we stuff our grape leaves with sautéed onion\, jasmine rice and parsley\, then bake with lemon juice\n• Mushroom and cheddar pasteles – this turnover is made with our empanada dough\, and filled with sautéed mushrooms\, onion\, garlic\, thyme and cheddar cheese\n• Trio of dips\, served with pita crackers: matbucha\, Greek eggplant salad\, and beet hummus\n• Thyme and lemon roasted Kalamata olives\n• Seattle Chocolates \nAll levels of donation are welcome and include Havdalah ritual items\, however a minimum of $30 per registrant is requested to cover the full cost of the take-out meze box\, if desired.
