If God is good and all powerful, how can evil exist? What do Jews think of the Messiah? How does the Jewish calendar work? Why is the siddur structured the way it is? What does Judaism have to say about abortion? End of life decisions? Business ethics? Sex? How did the rabbis respond to the destruction of the Temple? How did the state of Israel come into being? For answers to these and other questions, join Rav Barry’s Essential Judaism course. Classes are free and open to the public; there are 21 sessions and classes run through March. You don’t have to sign up for the complete course – feel free to drop in for any classes that are of interest to you (click for a detailed syllabus). For those interested in conversion, completing the course fulfills the study requirements.
