Led by Rabbi Jay Rosenbaum & Reverend Elizabeth Riley via Zoom
Fifty years ago, the Christian world revolutionized its relationship with the Jewish people by rejecting the teaching of contempt, the belief that Jews were to be blamed for the death of Jesus. This led to a dramatic decrease in Christian antisemitism. But, with antisemitism on the rise, the transformation of Jewish-Christian relations can serve as a model for all of us.
In this class we will review what we discussed in our January 2021 class to lay the groundwork for our upcoming new experiences, and we will be adding some new material on The Relationship between Body and Soul in Judaism and Christianity. In this segment, we will explore more stereotypes that Jews and Christians have about each other regarding the physical world, the human body, law and love.
