Understanding, Advocating, and Connecting to Israel

September 19, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Gwenn and Dean Polik and Valerie Polack, z’’l Israel Class: Understanding, Advocating, and Connecting to Israel
9/19, 10/24, 11/14, 12/12, 1/23, 2/6, 3/27, 4/24, 5/15 ● 4:00pm – 5:00pm on Zoom

Our trip is now full, but the class is still open to all 8-12th graders from HNT and beyond! This advocacy class is an opportunity for our students to develop their relationship with Israel. The following topics will be explored during our 8 sessions of learning at HNT:

  1. Ancient Israel: Exploring the biblical connection to Israel
  2. Israel Advocacy: Address, Reframe, Message
  3. Jerusalem: City of Peace
  4. Israeli Society: Who is considered an Israeli?
  5. Yad Vashem: Uncovering the roots of anti-Semitism
  6. Israel through the ages: How can archeology help us understand the past in Israel?
  7. Dual Narrative: Understanding the Palestinian narrative.
  8. Reflections and Appreciations

This class will be beneficial to students even if they are not attending the trip because it will give them the valuable tools needed to talk intelligently and passionately about Israel as well as an opportunity to further explore and deepen their connection with Israel. The cost of the class which includes special guest speakers on relevant topics related to Israel is $400 for HNT members and $500 for non-members. Thanks to Gwenn and Dean Polik for supporting this program in honor of the memory of Valerie Polack, z’’l.
