About Rabbi Jacob Herber

Rabbi Jacob Herber is excited by the prospect of serving as the rabbi of Herzl-Ner Tamid, a congregation known for its welcoming approach, strong lay leadership and synagogue professionals, devoted volunteers, engaged members, and for its strong connection with the State of Israel. He also loves the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest.

Rabbi Herber is passionate about building a vibrant and welcoming congregational community, leading worship services that are engaging and inspiring, teaching people of all ages and backgrounds, being there for people when they are celebrating life’s joys or facing challenges, preaching, guiding people on their journeys to Judaism, supporting the State of Israel, tikkun olam, and engaging in interfaith work.

Thursday, February 13

  • 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM Meet & Mingle with Rabbi Herber, followed by Q & A*

Friday, February 14

  • 7:00 AM – 8:15 PM Morning Minyan and a light breakfast and Meet & Mingle with Rabbi Herber
  • 5:15 PM – 6:00 PM Extended Pre-neg: Appetizers and Meet & Mingle with Rabbi Herber
  • 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM Shabbat Services: Rabbi Herber will lead Kabbalat Shabbat and deliver a d’var

Saturday, February 15

  • 9:30 AM – 12:15 PM Shabbat Services: Rabbi Herber will deliver a d’var, lead part of Musaf, and read Torah
  • 12:15 PM – 1:15 PM Kiddush Lunch and Meet & Mingle with Rabbi Herber
  • 1:15 PM – 2:00 PM Shabbat Study Session led by Rabbi Herber in the Skolnick Board Room
  • 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM Seudah Shlishit (light meal) and Shabbat activities led by Rabbi Herber for children and families. We will conclude with havdalah.
