Youth Shabbat
March 5, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Calling all 8th – 12th graders!
Our Torah discussion will be about order and chaos and the kind of society the Rabbis imagined we should create. It turns out they had a lot of ideas about how we should behave to one another and what might be the impact on society if we ignore our responsibilities to one another. We don’t think the Rabbis were utopians but they had long discussions about how we might go wrong in our interpersonal relationships.
Here is the signup. There are many opportunities to lead and participate but you can also be spontaneous and decide what you want to do on Shabbat itself.

The goals of the Youth Service are to:
- Experience a real Shabbat service with recent B’nai Mitzvah young adults as leaders and readers who will lead, read torah and facilitate Torah discussions.
- Craft ways to experience Shabbat in a way that reflects the interests and concerns of our young adults.
- Give young Jewish adults ways to see ritual participation as relevant to their lives.
- Provide role models to younger students as they see their older peers continuing to participate and engage with Jewish practice.
